KSRM College Of Engineering

The college owes its existence to the keen interest of Late Kandula Obul Reddy to develop technical education in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. With a view to translating his noble ideal of imparting technical education into reality, a Technical Training Institute at Vempalli, Kadapa District was started in 1979 under the aegis of Sri Kandula Obul Reddy charities. It is in the year 1980 that K.S.R.M. College of Engineering was established to perpetuate the memory of Late Sri. Srinivasa Reddy, youngest son of Late Sri Obul Reddy. Sri Srinivasa Reddy, a brilliantstudent of III year Mechanical Engineering at Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi, met with his untimely death in a scooter accident on 18th Oct, 1979.


Placement

Interaction between engineers and entrepreneurs is the basis for genesis of this cell. Since its beginning greater emphasis has been laid on putting efforts to provide placement to students. It organizes campus interviews, provides information on job opportunities and arranges summer training for students. The cell furnishes the list of students of various branches for off-campus interviews to different companies of first water. The cell is constantly arranging special lectures from eminent persons of different fields of specialization to help the students emerge as Great Technocrats.

Institution-industry Interaction Cell (IIC)
Having felt the importance of rapport between institution and industry in the changing scenario of global free market economy, the College has opened a cell namely Institution – Industry Interaction Cell (I IC) for the mutual benefit of both the parties. The cell has actively been functioning by negotiating with and entering into Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with industries of various kind. The objectives of MOU are:

  • To establish strong and meaningful linkages between the institution and industry.
  • To share the expertise and experience.
  • To achieve excellence in technical education through an attitude of out-reach, partnership and sharing of resources. So far, the institution has entered into Memoranda of understanding with 26 establishments. It has also formed an Industrial Advisory Committee with entrepreneurs as members to Co-ordinate and plan the activities of the Cell in order to achieve its objectives.
