Dr. M. V. Shetty Memorial Trust was instituted in memory of Dr. M.V. Shetty, M.S., FRCS, FRFPS (1917-1976) was an eminent Surgeon and Professor of Surgery. He was also a Commandant of Home Guards and Director of Lions Artificial Limb centre, Mangalore. Recognizing his meritorius service in the filed of health to the society, Dr. Shetty was awarded President's Gold Medal at the 28th Republic Day Celebrations. In his memory, the Dr. M.V. Shetty Memorial Trust (R) was founded in the year 1985 by his son Dr. M. Ramgopal Shetty, MS, FICS, FICA.,Vascular Surgeon, Mangalore. The Trust is dedicated in continuing the noble work started by the visionary to impart quality education in the field of health sciences and rendering health services to the needy people of the society. Now the trust with the objective of giving technical education to the rural needy people, has started an Engineering College at Thodar, Moodabidri, Mangalore.

Placement

 Placement Department Training and placement department of Dr. MVSIT is working under a motto to achieve an objective of providing a placement opportunity for individual student of the institution. College is having a separate department for Training and Placement with qualified and experienced staff, which always interacts with corporate. The department organizes interaction with students on a continuous basis to upgrade their knowledge base. Continuous training and motivation has been given to students to reach their goals

Mangalore Region Combined placement pool:
The Engineering Colleges of the Mangalore region have formed a Combined Placement Pool in the year 2005 for the Campus recruitment. This Initiative would help the students in providing more opportunities and exposures for corporate world.
