CMC, Vellore was established and maintained by the Christian Medical College association which is registered or authorized society and formed by the 50 different Indian Christian Churches which run appeox 225 hospitals, Health Centres, Dispensories. It was established with the motto of imparting high quality education and provide all the medical facilities to all the people espacially people belongs from the rural region. It's main purpose is to train dedicated person to manage provide health care. It's vision is to provide excellent education system. It offers Medical graduate, post graduate courses in nursing and many degree and diploma courses in Bioengineering. Apart from this it has well establoished infrastructure including all the facilities for the comfort of students. It conducts various events and extra curricular activities for the students so that it may help in their overall development.

CMC has good placement record as most of the students of this college got placed in good or reputated organizations according to their skills or eligibility. It provides various opportunities to students so that they can grab what they want. It has it's placement cell which helps students in their placement related activities by all possible way. They conducts various pre-placement activities to train students for their better future placement or to get them aware about the placement process.
