It stand for database manaegement system .it is made up of two terms database+management system .
databse is the storage place or we can say warehose of data and the information .
management system-it is usually known as mangement department where we manage data
so database management systemis responsible for the storing of data and how tomange that data from interuupting anyone
database includes the role of database management is controlon data whenever we wanat to use we get easily database management system is the majaor part on information and technolgy
1.Database is collection of data which is related by some aspect. Data is collection of facts and figures which can be processed to produce information. Name of a student, age, class and her subjects can be counted as data for recording purposes.
2.A database management system stores data, in such a way which is easier to retrieve, manipulate and helps to produce information.
3.Mostly data represents recordable facts. Data aids in producing information which is based on facts. For example, if we have data about marks obtained by all students, we can then conclude about toppers and average marks etc.
4.Modern DBMS are more realistic and uses real world entities to design its architecture. It uses the behavior and attributes too. For example, a school database may use student as entity and their age as their attribute.
5.A database system is entirely different than its data. Where database is said to active entity, data is said to be passive one on which the database works and organizes. DBMS also stores metadata which is data about data, to ease its own process.
A database can be a set of flat files stored on computer tape or disk or it could consist of database tables that are managed by a Database Management System (DBMS).
There are different types of DBMS relational, network and hierarchical. The most used type of DBMS is the Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
Some Data Base Management Systems can be accessed directly using programming languages such as COBOL while others provide their own programming language for interacting with the database. Many DBMS applications also provide reporting and query tools to view data in the databbase
