School Status:
The school is managed by the Santa Maria Education Society. It is reconginsed by the Delhi Administration and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). St. Mary's School is an un-aided, Christian minority school that practices inclusion. Students are prepared for the All India Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations under the 10+2 scheme.
Faculty:
The school is full aware of the teacher's role in the moulding of the child's character. Teachers are grouped according the departments that work to integrate formal learning with every day life. We ensure that teachers who are chosen represent the diversity of the country and that they are dynamic and committed to realizing the potential of every child.
School Set up: Junior Section (Classes I to IV)
The atomsphere in the junior section is relaxed, lively and informal. Apart from regular subjects like English, Maths, Hindi and Environmental Science, a variety of courses such as chess, instrumental and vocal music, dance, art and craft, computer & gymnastics are also offered. Cultural activities. overnight camps and public speaking all go towards moulding confident and curious young children.
Junior section has no term ending examinations. Students are assessed on curricular and co-curricular activities that take place during the year.
Middle Section (Classes V to VIII)
Seeks to consolidate what Junior Section has initiated. Students continue to follow a continuous assessment pattern. Sanskrti and French are introduced as third Language options in class VI. Activities continue to cover music, dance, handicrafts, fine art, computers, pottery needlework, electronics, chess, skating, theatre and meal planning. NCC is compulsory for all students of class VIII.
