Through twelve eventful decades of its history, Rajkumar College, Raipur, is one of the leading Public Schools of the country and the only one in the State of Chhattisgarh. Established in 1882, Rajkumar College is one of the founder members of the Indian Public School’s Conference. The School was opened to educate the children of the erstwhile Ruling Chiefs of Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Bihar. In 1940, the gates of the School were opened for one and all without any distinction to caste, creed and religion.
Rajkumar College is an institution where excellence is tradition and we believe that each student is special and has the potential to excel in many different spheres. The founding fathers of the College rightly chose the, College motto as “ Swadeshe Pujyate Raja,Vidwan Sarvatra Pujyate ” meaning “A Raja is honored in his own country, a learned man throughout the world”.

ADMISSIONS ARE GRANTED BOTH AS BOARDERS AND AS DAY SCHOLARS TO BOYS AS WELL AS GIRLS IN ALL CLASSES EXCEPT CLASSES X AND XII.
Admission is granted in the college on the basis of candidate's performance in the admission test held on the last Sunday of February of the year in which he/she wishes to join the college. The admission test is taken in English, Hindi and Mathematics.
Students are admitted to the Nursery Class from the age of three plus and to the Class VI from the age of eleven plus. The final selection the child is made on the basis of
(a) Vacancy
(b) Performance in the admission test
(c) Interview of both the child and the parent and
(d) The Mark Sheet of the previous class.
The College has spacious buildings, grounds and play fileds. The whole estate is spread over an area of 115 acres. Behind the main building, attached to it are the Stow Hall and the Sarangarh Dining Hall. The Show Hall is used for daily morning assembly, lectures / talks by visitors and for other cultural programmes. M.P.
