Nirmala Mata High School is a co-educational institution conducted by the Gyan mata Education Soiety( Pilar Fathers).
This school was founded on 30 th June, 1962 by Rev. Fr. Thomas Machado. It was started to meet the needs of the people of Diu for education in English Medium. It achieved one of its goals when its pupils appeared for the Secondary School Certificate Examination in March 1976, Cent percent result in the S.S.C. Examination in March 1978 crowned its achievements. Its founder, Fr. Thomas Machado, while he was the Principal and Teacher for 17 years, gave his life and soul for its up-bringing till he breathed his last on 6th March 1982. The strength of the school is on the increase every year.
The School prepares its pupils for the S.S.C. Examination with an integral approach for life in Society.
