Adwaita Mission High School, Mandar Vidyapith,Banka - an educational institution run by Mandar Vidyapith was established in 1990. The institution is an autonomous one, where all students - irrespective of their language, religion, caste or creed are welcome to receive education from Nursery to Class XII. It is an English medium, co-educational Senior Secondary School with boarding facilities for both boys and girls. Its parent body, Mandar Vidyapith has pioneering role in the educational realm of Bhagalpur region. Since its launching in 1945, it has a strong voice in the cultural field.  REGISTRATION, TEST, INTERVIEW AND ADMISSION :

• Students seeking admission to the school are to get their names registered in the month    of January. Admission is done purely on the basis of written test, interview and according    to the availability of seats in each class.
 
• Application form should be properly and neatly filled in and all the entries should be made    correctly. Incomplete application may be rejected.
 
• Children who have completed five years as on 31st March are eligible for admission to    class- 1. Upper age limit is 6 years. Corresponding age limits are applicable for all other    classes.
 
• No fresh admission is made in Class X and XII.
 
• Selected candidates are required to furnish the following documents at the time of    admission.
o Date of birth certificate from Municipal Corporation orequivalent body. 
o Two passport size photographs. 
o Transfer Certificate from the previous institution. 
o Marks Sheet of the last examination. 
o Medical certificate of General health from a Govt. Regd. Doctor.

 

RESIDENTIAL ARRANGEMENTS :

At present there are five hostels to accommodate boys and girls coming from remote places. Living together in dormitories under the supervision of resident teachers and having common dining arrangements, the pupils will be quietly initiated into the Upanishadic ideal of universal fraternity and trained in disciplined life. Boys/Girls will have to serve meals in the dining hall by turns and cleanse their own stainless steel utensils. Collective prayer, drill, games, regular study excursion and cultural programms are some of the compulsory items the inmates of the hostel have to follow.

 

HOUSE SYSTEM :

For promoting proper interaction, team spirit, loyalty and healthy competition among the students, they are divided in to four houses after the names of famous rivers i.e Ganga, Yamuna, Krishna and Kaveri. Every student at the time of admission is placed in one of these houses. Each house is headed by a boy/girl known as House Captain. AVice house captain is also selected for the help of the house captain.The activities of the house are directed and guided by a teacher appointed as the House Master. During the course of the academic year, several inter-house sports, arts and cultural competitions are held. Points are awarded to the students throughout the year for these extra curricular activities. At the end of the academic year, the house which gets the maximum points is awarded a running trophy.
