Union Public Service Commission has postponed the Civil Service Prelims Examination till the next announcement which was to be conducted on 31st May 2020. Notification related to the postponement of the examination was posted on the Commission's official website upsc.gov.in.

According to the notice related to the Civil Service Examination 2020, various examinations and pending interview process for various posts can’t be proceeded due to the situation occurred after lockdown 2 in all over India and the restrictions.

Due to this only, the Commission has postponed the Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2020. Along with this, already announced procedure of the indian forest service examination which is screened on the basis of the Civil Service Examination, have also been postponed.

UPSC will announce new dates for the examination only after finishing the current lockdown. The Commission has said in it’s notice that new dates can be announced on 20 May 2020, after observing the situation. However, new dates will be announced by the commission before 30 days.

Union Public Service Commission selects the candidates for various services and posts under the Central government. In selection procedure, candidates have to be involved in the prelims examination in the first stage.

The Commission also said in it’s notice that before this announcement, the notification for the Interview Round of the Civil Service Examination 2019, indian economic service 2020, National Defence Academy and other exams have been postponed.
