"Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi has restricted the use of internet after midnight for students in hostels."

To maintain the academic performance of students IIT Delhi has taken a decision to prohibit its students from using the internet facility in the hostel premises between 1am and 6am. The institute, during these five hours, disconnects the internet facility available to students in their hostel rooms.

During mid night students were using internet facility for watching videos or being busy on social networking sites; downloading movies or playing games till late in the morning. Hence, waking up late and getting delayed for classes. So that college authority took the decision to disconnect the internet facility during the interval for 1am to 6am.
However, the internet facility will still be available to students 24x7 in libraries, labs and research rooms on campus. Students, who need to use the internet for their studies or project work, etc, can use these facilities and students can use their own wireless internet connections in their rooms during the night,

Withe this decision students having problem according to them they have limited usage of Internet in terms of amount of data. Some students use this late night facility for study perpose only so this decision will affact their study as well. One more problem student state that with personal internet connection it is very difficult to download even a single pdf file. Moreover the research rooms are located about 1.5 km from hostels and are generally occupied by senior students, so it is inconvenient for junior students.
