CBSE to encourage unique and creative thinking in students

The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is providing exceeding academic text books so that they can develop the ability to interpret and understand processes use this knowledge in daily applications.The problem solving assesment has also been introduced by the board this year which help students to face real life circumstaces by utilizing the knowledge which is gained from books as well as classrooms.

Problem solving questions will be asked from students of class 9 and 11 to improve their generic and higher thinking skills.Intention of introducing these question is to enhance decision making,creative thinking and critical  thinking and problem solving ,includind communication skills.

No syllabus has been set for problem solving assesment but the questions will include qualitative reasoning for science and mathematics,quantitative reasoning for humanities and social science & languages conventions for written communication.

10% weightage will be given to problem solving assesment and score will be put in mathematics,social sciences and in one of languages from hindi and english.No timetable has been set for teaching this subject

This will help out students to think differently and broadly and also can apply their knowledge practically in real life situations.
