Counselling schedules to be displayed by: 4th April, 2012

Tentative dates of counselling: 16th-17th April, 2012

Date of admission: 18th April, 2012 onwards

Classes will commence: from 16th July, 2012 at all Centres

Eligibility:

       I.            Candidates must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree (minimum 10+2+3) in any discipline

    II.            Candidates of B.Sc/B.A./B.Com must have minimum 50% marks in average (40% for SC/ST) in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects)

 III.            Percentage of marks for candidate with Honours degree will be computed on the basis of Honours’ subjects

 IV.            Candidates of other professional courses including BBA/BCA must have minimum 55% marks in average (40% for SC/ST) in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects)

    V.            For all other programmes the reservation criteria for SC & ST are as per the statutory norms of Central Govt. (SC -15% & ST - 7.5%)

 VI.            Candidates graduating in 2012 can also apply, provided they have at least requisite marks as mentioned above at the time of applying

VII.            They must submit marksheets by 31st October, 2012

VIII.            Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance learning programmes are eligible only if they have passed the programme.

 IX.            50% of the seats are reserved for the candidates appeared in the CAT 2011 and rest of 50% for CMAT 2012.

    X.            25% of the seats are reserved for the candidates graduated with Engg. / Tech, who otherwise have qualified for admissions. The Institute reserves the right to fill the seats from the other group also.

 XI.            Candidates must have appeared and valid total percentile/scores in CAT-2011/CMAT-2012

XII.            Candidates must see institute website www.bitmesra.ac.in for detailed notification

XIII.            Selection process: Based on total percentile/scores in CAT-2011/CMAT-2012 of eligible applicants

XIV.            Notifications will be put up only on the institute website

XV.            No separate intimations will be sent to applicants.

XVI.            50% seats are reserved for the state where the centre is located.

How to apply: On-line form must be filled-in and download the Bank challan form (SBI/ICICI) from our website to deposit the application fee for Rs 2,000/- (Rs 1,200/- for SC/ST) non-refundable in favour of Birla Institute of Technology in a SBI/ICICI bank and enter the challan number and other required details of the payment as issued by the bank within the given time period.

Send a printout of the completely filled form with requisite enclosures to the office of Dean Admission and Academic Coordination, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi-835215 positively by 26th March, 2012.

The link for filling the on-line form will be active from 09.00 a.m. on 15th January, 2012 to 7.00 p.m. on 22nd March, 2012.

Before sending the application candidate should check the following things:-

                1.  A print-out of the duly completed online form with a photo pasted on it.

   2.  Two recent colour photographs – [same as pasted on the form] and attached by clip (write your Name, Form No and “MBA-2012” on the back of the photos)

   3.  A Institute copy of Challan slip issued by the Bank for Rs.2,000/- (General) and Rs.1,200/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) (write your Name, Form /Application No, and “MBA-2012” on the back of the bank challan)

   4.  A set of photocopies of certificates as listed  below: (write your Name, Form No. and “MBA-2012” on the back of each of the photocopies):

a)    Passing certificate and Marksheet of Class 10.

b)    Marksheet of Class 12 / Intermediate or equivalent

c)    Marksheets of Graduation for graduates OR Marksheets upto pre-final year for graduating candidates in 2012.

d)     Printout of Admit Card / Hall Ticket of CAT 2011 / CMAT 2012 [as received by e-mail]

e)    Printout of Score Card of CAT 2011 / CMAT 2012

f)    Caste certificate (if applicable)

g)      Candidates belonging to other special categories mentioned in Sec 7 (Physically Handicapped / Ward of defence personnel killed or disabled in service / Current student of BIT / Ward of BIT employee) must provide photocopy of certificate in proper format from appropriate authority.

h)      Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee Identification Card are acceptable)
