General Eligibility : For MSc (Biotechnology): The candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks in any of the following disciplines - Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, BSc (Physician Assistant Course - 4 years) or Medicine (MBBS)/ Dental (BDS).

For MSc (Agriculture)/M Veterinary Science): The applicants need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks in any of the following disciplines - Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH), Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry, Dairy Technology, B Tech (Biotech), B Tech (Horticulture) or Sericulture, according to the requirement of the participating university.

For MTech (Biotechnology): The candidates must have a BE/BTech degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in any of these disciplines - Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, B Pharma, Chemical Technology, or MSc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics. (Also BTech/ BE in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering and MSc in Chemistry & Physics in case of Anna University and MSc in Bioengineering in case of West Bengal University of Technology)
