Jharkhand CET is conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) Board for selection of candidates into the first year of Engineering, Medical and Agricultural degree programs in various government and private institutes/colleges in Jharkhand.
The entrance test is conducted for the following courses:
B Sc, BE, BDS, BVSc & AH, MBBS
For MBBS/BDS:
The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English taken together, are eligible to appear in the entrance exam. The minimum age requirement of the candidates is 17 years.
For B.VSc & AH
The candidates are required to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study. The candidates are required to attain minimum of 17 years of age.
For B. Sc Agri & B. Sc Forestry
The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as subjects of study, are eligible. The minimum age requirement of the candidate is 17 years.
The jharkhand combined entrance competitive examination will be conducted in 2 stages :
1-- preliminary examination
2-- mains or final examination
all for those who clear the preliminary examination
The preliminary entrance test paper is fragmented into 4 parts :
All parts carry objective type multiple choice questions. In total, the entrance examination consists of 200 questions, which have to be answered within 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is the duration of the paper. Negative marking is also there for every wrong answer. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the preliminary examination, a separate list of the engineering and medical candidates is prepared after evaluation. The candidates, who successfully qualify the preliminary examination, are eligible to appear in the final examination.
The final examination is held on a different date. The candidates have to appear in the final examination, which is divided into three parts. The questions are asked from the combination of subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidates aspiring to pursue course in the medical field have to appear in a paper that consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The questions in final examination are also of objective type and the system of negative marking for wrong answers attempted by a candidate prevails.
