Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test is carried out by Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. It is one of the oldest and pioneer institute in the field of law studies and s holding the status of a deemed university by University Grants Commission in 2004.
The university offers different programs in the post graduate and research in the field of law like LLM, Diploma programs and PhD.
The LLM programmes offered are:-
LLM – 2 year course, and
LLM (Evening) – 3 year course.
It is only a qualifying examination, as the final admission to the courses will be made on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in CAT, followed by their performance in the Group Discussion and Viva Voce, to be conducted by the Institute. Alumni of these institutes are serving in the highest position in the Supreme Court or High court or in the top most position in the law profession.

Apllication Form will be available by the cost of Rs.300/-.
2. If the ILI CAT Application Form is downloaded from the ILI website www.ili.ac.in a Demand Draft of Rs. 1100/- is to be attached along with the application form. In case, the payment of Rs. 1100/- is made through online payment gateway, the copy of payment response page generated by online payment gateway shall also be attached with the application form.
ILI CAT LLM Eligibility:-
For LLM – 2 year course: Candidates should have minimum 50% marks in their LLB Degree which is recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India,
OR
Candidates should have a Law Degree from a foreign country with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
Candidateswho are appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply but admission will be subject to production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification, at the time of admission. If the result of the qualifying exam is not declared till the date of admission, his / her admission shall be provisional.
LLM (Evening) – 3 year course:
Candidates, who have obtained a LLB Degree with not less than 50% marks from a recognized University, are eligible to apply for the course.
Reservation of Seats:
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes: 15% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and 7½% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes.
Other Backward Classes (OBC) students: 27% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to OBC.
Physically Handicapped: 3% seats are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates.

Paper I: Jurisprudence
Paper II: Judicial Process
Paper III: Legal Research & Methodology
ILI CAT Entrance Test consists Four parts-
Part-I - It contains 30 Objective Type Questions with Multiple Choices relating to English Language and General Knowledge.
Part-II - It contains 70 Objective Type Questions with Multiple Choices from the following areas : Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, IPC, Public International Law, Commercial Law (Contract and Specific Relief Act, Partnership and Sale of Goods Act), Law of Torts, Law of Limitation and Environmental Law.
Part-III - It Contains Subjective Type Questions to be answered in not more than 150 words from Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, IPC, Commercial Laws (Contract, Partnership and Sale of Goods Act) and Environmental Law.
Part-IV - Legal Reasoning
The Time Duration of ILI CAT Common Admission Test will be Two and Half hours and medium of test will be English.
