Admissions to B.E. and B.Pharm courses shall be on the basis of GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test), which shall be conducted in 10 Centres, across Goa State for the year 2013 only. GCET will be replaced by the JEE examination from the year 2014
A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for the candidates seeking admission to first year degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture in various colleges in Goa. Admission to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).
Important: No GCET from the year 2014
Admissions to B.E. Courses in the State of Goa from the year 2014-15, are proposed to be on the basis of National Level JEE (Joint Entrance Engineering Examination) conducted by CBSE, which is likely to include portions covered in both Std. XIth and XIIth Science, and with suitable weightage accorded for marks scored at Std. XIIth Board exam
GCET 2013 Eligibility:
The candidate must pass 10+2 level of examination of Goa Board of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized board, with a minimum of 50% marks. Physics and Mathematics should be compulsorily studied with: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology as optional subjects. The candidate should get through the examination in a single attempt. In case of SC/ST and OBC candidates a minimum of 40% marks is sufficient.
GCET 2013 Reservation of Seats:
Question paper shall be of objective, multiple-choice type containing 75 questions of 1 mark each, with no negative marking.
GCET 2011 shall be based on syllabus prescribed by Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim for Std. XIIth examination of March, 2012 in the above subjects.
