Shivani Institute of Technology (SIT) is situated in a serene campus on the Trichy-Dindigul Highways. The college is located 12 Kms from the city providing the twin benefits of not being too far as well as being a quiet retreat, away from the distractions of the city, making it ideal for quality education. Founded by Dr. P.Selvaraj, Secretary, Constortium of Self-Financing Engineering colleges in Tamilnadu, who plays a key role in the development of technical education in Tamilnadu in the fields of science & Engineering , the institution seeks to carry forward the spirit of excellence that characterizes Dr. P.Selvaraj 's ventures. The institution is committed to scripting a unique chapter of quality & excellence in education and research.
There are two separate hostels for boys and girls inside the campus. The respective messes attached to the hostels provide hygienic and quality food. Spacious outdoor and indoor games facilities are provided for the students. A Qualified Medical officer visits the hostels thrice a week to take care of the health of the students. There are separate generators as stand-by for supply of electricity continuously. A vehicle in hostel for emergency use is in place at 24/7 basis . A Spacious canteen caters to the needs of staff and student community offering good quality food .A departmental store also functions to meet any other needs of the students.Adequate transport facilities are being provided for the benefit of students and staff coming from various outskirts of the city. Around 10 college buses ply to transport the students from various places like Trichy town, REC/BHEL, Manapparai, K.K Nagar and Lalgudi. In addition to the Punctual service,the college transport also ensures the safety and security of the students.

Shivani Institute of Technology has an independent placement office catering to the needs of organizations in conducting campus interviews. It is headed by a professor designated as placement officer and a full time permanent coordinator. The office is also assisted by student coordinators who lead a team of placement representatives from various courses of studies. The placement office ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality for the visiting companies' officials. The placement office, functions in a separate air conditioned block with all audio visual facilities for PPT, written test, group discussion and interviews and has rapidly progressed in enhancing the placement potential effectively. It plays a very important and key role in counseling and guiding the students of the college for their successful career placement. In just the second year of operation, we have conducted 5 campus recruitment drives for final year Engineering and polytechnic students from all over Tamilnadu. More than 70 students have been placed during these recruitment drives.
