The Navrachana University, Vadodara was established in 2009. Its a private statutory university under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 (Gujarat Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Volume L, Tuesday, July 7, 2009). In March 2011, it was recognized by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act, 1956 . It is a unitary non-affiliating university and does not receive any grant-in-aid or other financial assistance from the Central or State Government. It has embarked on a journey that is set to transform higher education, where the aspirations of the individual, seeking knowledge and self-development is centric for demanding career options. In creating a new University there has been a heightened sense of anticipation and a realization that we are at the cusp of something quite unique within the education sector in our Country, a task which requires due attention to the three essential factors- Infrastructure, faculty and students- that take an academic institution to high standards. The University campus on Vasna road, Vadodara has infrastructure with well stocked library, computer labs, science labs, modern lecture halls and cafeteria. As a part of university’s future plans, a new sprawling permanent campus of over 70 acres with futuristic infrastructure is being designed and built to be relevant environmentally, technologically and socially in the years to come. Also they are coming up with a city campus next to Navrachana International School in Bhayali this year. The University has been established under a Common Act. However UGC has asked the State Government of Gujarat to send a Separate State Act.
