The reputed Pune Gujrati Kelwani Mandal is the Parent body of H.V.Desai College. The society started the college with the aim of imparting education to the local less literate trading Gujrati community 25 years ago. H.V.Desai College that began in two rooms at the R.C.M school 25 years ago today holds an excellent centrally placed campus with highly qualified staff and infrastructural sound setup.

The College caters traditional commerce, basic Science and Arts students aiming for their graduation. The college also has expanded with junior college for commerce and Science, B.Sc in Computer Science, BCA , BBA and MCS.
