Siksha O Ansusandhan University metamorphosised from a very modest beginning. Orissa was a poor state and the literacy levels were low. Most students who could afford, migrated to Universities outside the state to pursue careers in technical fields due to lack of facilities in Orissa.
This trend was unacceptable to atleast one visionary professor Prof.(Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak who decided to establish an Engineering Instiute in Bhubaneswar. The Institute was named - Institute of Technical Education & Research, fondly known as ITER.
That was way back in the academic year 1996-97 when the first batch of students took admissions to pursue careers in engineering and technology in a small building.
There has been no looking back since then. Today when Siksha O Anausandhan Society completes 10 eventful years, the vision of its founder is taking shape in the form of an university which shall endeavour to make quality professional education accesible to student across all communities.
The objectives of Siksha O Anusandhan University is to promote professional education, research, training and development in engineering, management, computer science, medical sciences, dental sciences, pharmacy, nursing etc. This shall help in catering to the professional manpower need of the Country.
The Placement Cell of ITER identifies the industry needs and demands from time to time and prepares its graduating engineering and MCA students who are on the threshold of an exciting career in the field of technology. The placement cell is committed to continuous learning, and creating positive ideas, through rigorous training to prepare the young techies. Our primary objective is to enrich students' human capital through the creation of a learning environment. We are dedicated to help our students achieve worthwhile positions in different fields in the corporate sectors. Students' communication skills are honed through communication and organizational behavior courses.
rnFor overall personality development regular counseling sessions are organized on various.phpects of personality development like positive thinking, body language, time management, stress management and communicative skills. We invite psychologists and career counselors to conduct these sessions, motivate the students and help them to improve the power of assimilation and retention.
rnWe also organize off-campus recruitment programme, to facilitate the students of other technical Institute of the State to learn and improvise them.
