King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College are one of the premier educational institutes for medical studies in India. This medical college is also ranked among the top 25 medical colleges in India. The Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC) and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) was established in the year 1926 and is located in Mumbai, India. These institutions are funded by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and provide virtually free of cost services mostly to the underprivileged people in the area. The G.S. Medical College is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) located in Nasik, Maharashtra. The institute provide medical training to around 2000 students under different programs like undergraduate, Postgraduate and super-speciality courses. Apart from this, the institute also manage a nursing school itself.
Campus-
The college and the hospital are located in the central Mumbai. The area where it is located in called as Parel which is the area where homes of middle and lower middle class families have their homes. This locality has also several other medical centres close to each other. The Tata Memorial Hospital which is the Asia’s largest cancer hospital is also there within the range of few square kilometres from the institute and the college campus.
