It started in 1993 with an idea of six week social project in rural areas or urban slums for PGDM participants. The participants after the completion of first year are mandatorily required to take up 6-week social projects. Working in socially and economically disadvantaged sections exposes them to hardships
SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai completed placements for the 2-year PGDM Class of 2011 with 242 offers from 76 companies for the placement process.
Of the 242 offers, 107 were lateral offers and 77 were pre-placement offers from autumn internships. According to the institute, 39% of the batch had offers of Rs 15 lakhs and more while 59.5% of the batch had salaries of Rs 13 lakhs and more. Thomson Reuters and Deloitte made foreign offers.
One student chose to defer placements to explore own venture.
