S N D T came into existence in the year 1916. The college was established with an aim to impart quality education among the women aspirants of India and to help them in their overall development. The university was founded by Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve. Initially, the college started with five female students on roll.

They conducts various pre-placement activities to train students for their better future placement or to get them aware about the placement process.
