National Institute of Technology Nagaland is one of the 30 NITs running in India and is managed by the MHRD of the Indian Government in the year 2009. NIT Nagaland is located at Dimapur in Nagaland. NIT Nagaland is among the 10 newly opened NITs in India which were opened under the 11th Five Year Plan of the Government of India. This institute like the others has a motive of expanding the technical education to every corner of the country and for that these new NITs are the steps that government has taken. The first batch of NIT Nagaland was started in the year 2010 at the NIT Silchar Campus which later on moved to its home state in 2012. NIT Nagaland is being managed by the NIT Nagaland Society which is registered under the Societies Act of Indian Government.

Campus-

At the present, the NIT Nagaland Campus is located at the Old DC Complex at Chumukedima which is around 14 kilometers from Dimapur. The Campus of NIT Nagaland is equipped with updated library, Data Centre, Hostel, Bank and ATM, Canteen, Medical Assistance and Several sports facilities too.
