National Institute of Technology Agartala is one of the 30 NITs that have been established in India by the MHRD of Indian Government to improve the current economic development to a new level by imparting best technical education to the students. NIT Agartala is an attempt to raise the development particularly in the North- East States. NIT Agartala was initially founded as Tripura Engineering College in the year 1965 and then upgraded to a National Institute of Technology in the year 2006. The college campus of NIT Agartala is location in the rural outskirts of the Agratala City. The NIT Agartala Campus is equipped with several facilities within the boundaries of the campus which is spread over an area of 335 acres of land.
