Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) is established by Mr. Rajesh chowta under Rajalaxmi Education Trust, Mangalore in 2007 with an objective of promoting research oriented advance courses in the field of technology & engineering. MITE is committed to promote and propagate quality education on par with International standards to groom talents and turn them into top quality professionals with high intellectual capabilities and strong moral values.
The institute is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Presently the institute is not only known as a strategic educational hub but it also offers its students good placement opportunities.
The institute is Placed on the Mangalore - Sholapur Highway, it's about 30 kms away from Mangalore and about 4 kms short of the town Moodabidri.
Hostel: The Institute is a residential campus, with Girl's and Boy's hostels, with ample spacious rooms with attached bathrooms on a twin sharing basis. The hostels are located within the college campus. It also offers round the clock hot water, internet connection, washing machine on every floor, veg & non-veg food.
Library: Mite central library is on the ground floor of the main college building. It is large, centrally air conditioned and divided into 2 major sections. The 'Reference section'. covers the major portion of the library. A student has the choice of referring to any book of his choice be it engineering, management or any other book available in the library. In addition to it to update and expand the knowledge of the student computers are also provided. A student can login and go through online journals and browse educational sites through them. The library is completely digitized and all records as well as e-books are loaded into the computers. a student can search for the copy of the book he wants from the library's own database software.
The College provides placement assistance to all its students. Final placements happen during the last term. A formidable array of the best companies in India visit the campus year after year searching for the best talent.
25 students of I batch MBA got placed at various companies in the Campus Placements held at MITE during Mar - July 2010. This includes 35 various offers, with few students getting multiple offers.
