The Bhandari Charitable Trust (BCT) , established in 1988, has been promoted by Directors of Electrotherm (India) Limited, a leading industrial group of Gujarat. The major objective of the Trust is to promote education and social welfare. The Trust has been registered under the Society’s Act in Ahmedabad on 12-01-1988. Its registration No. is E-6844.
Indus Institute of Technology & Engineering (IITE) – an apex institute focused on technical and management education, training and research owes its existence to Bhandari Charitable Trust – a charitable trust supported by the board of Electrotherm (I) Ltd.
Over the years, the group through its Charitable Trust, has contributed significantly to several humanitarian projects including earthquake rehabilitation, donations to hospital and even cycle expedition for the cause of national integration. It has contributed generously during the time of natural calamities and disasters. Offering scholarships to the needy students speaks of great regard to human values by the trust.
With the new millennium, ushering in a knowledge driven global economy, the group has embarked upon yet another initiative. An initiative, focused on education. An endeavor to enrich minds and elevate dreams. A center of excellence guided by a vision for tomorrow. In continuation of the true spirit of charity, the Bhandari Charitable Trust is equally strongly committed to the philosophy of offering technology centered education routed in the ideas of charity and philanthropy. The establishment of Indus Institute of Technology and Engineering by the trust bears testimony to this belief.
The trustees intended the institute to make contribution in emerging and forward looking fields of knowledge from the theoretical to applied science in keeping with the institutional objectives to be widely acknowledged as one of the country’s premier teaching and research institute and to be known far and wide as powerhouse for engineering and technology. The Bhandari Charitable Trust has set an amazing and blazing pace of academic growth in a short span of four years.
Indus believes that every body has ideas and therefore creates an environment that encourages every staff member to innovate under able guidance of experts. Advance Research and Development is the backbone of any engineering institute to excel in the field of academics. The paradigm today is in developing human resources and it is the best way to optimize the efficiency. The moot idea behind motivating the faculty to acquire the attributes necessary for scholastic excellence is to improve the standards of teaching.
The Indus institute is an extension of philosophy of its founding fathers to strive for perfection and try to remain at the helm of affairs. Therefore, Indus believes in pursuing the policy to rely not only on indigenous talent alone but to attract best and brightest scientific minds from across the world.
