The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar located at Bhubaneswar, Orissa is one of the eight new IITs that have been established by the MHRD of Indian Government to increase the availability of such colleges to a majority of people and at the same time to enhance the reach of the best education available in India for engineering and technical studies. IIT Bhubaneswar offers admission to B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programs at their campus. IIT Bhubaneswar got IIT Kharagpur as their mentor which is the largest among the fleet of IITs running in India based on the availability of courses, number of students and many others.
Campus-
An area of around 936 acres has been allotted to the IIT Bhubaneswar by the Governing bodies to make an extremely large campus that will have every sort of facilities available for their students. The permanent campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is located at Arugul which is situated at the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Presently the academic sessions of IIT Bhubaneswar is continuing in the temporary campus and IIT Bhubaneswar is the first IIT that has setup a marine campus for conducting research on rising sea levels. The campus is in the area where different major educational institutions are either running or will be made in the future. Along with this, the campus will be in the area which is rich in the different industries around them so that it will be easy to get industry exposure for the students.
The placements at IIT Bhubaneswar are not so good as compared with the other newly opened IITs inn India. The highest salary package that is offered is around Rs. 7.5 Lakhs. Some major companies at the campus placement of IIT Bhubaneswar are named as follows-
