The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode was established in the year 1996 and the first batch of the college was of only 42 students in the year 1997. Since then, the college had experienced tremendous growth. Now the number has reached to 356 students in the current batch of the college. It is the fastest growing management college in India which is aimed the best management education like other IIMs in India. IIMK is one of the institutes that have provided the facility of distance learning to help the working executives of India to learn even working at their organisation as well. The institute is a leading centre for Faculty Development Programs (FDP) and other training and research works to provide the best learning experience in the campus of IIMK. The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is a government aided management college which is known for its best education availability and the global exposure it provide to their students in the campus. IIMK is one of the15 IIMs in India and the 5th one in the list of IIMs that has been established in the country since now.
Campus-
The campus of IIMK is located two hillocks in the Kunnamangalam Area which is situated in the ancient city of Calicut of Kerala State. The campus of the IIMK is famous in India for its rich beauty and resource of fresh environment all around. The campus of IIMK has some of world class features and architecture of the building which are equipped with all the modern day facilities which are available at the major and top management institutes of the country. The institute has large air-conditioned classrooms, Activity Hall, Library and others major centres of learning and research.

In 2013, several companies participated in the campus recruitment and the number of new companies that visited the campus was around 36%.
