IIITM Gwalior Society constituted a Campus Visioning group to develop a vision for the institute campus and requirement of facilities on long-term basis. On the recommendation of the campus visioning committee, the architect was selected through a limited competition amongst architects who had, in the past, designed similar level institutions following the Architectural Council of India norms. A jury headed by Shri M.K.Kaw, then Secretary Education, Govt of India, selected M/S Suresh Goel & Associate, New Delhi as the architect for the institute.our vision is"global excellence in knowledge economy"The Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, is an autonomous institute, which is the first IIIT established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 1997, as an initiative to foster information technology (IT) and management education in India

The college is amongst the premier institutes of india providing high package placements every year.approx 5000 placements have been done so far.The placement cell generates profiles for every students and approach industries,multi national,national ,public sector enterprises etc. companies every year to visit the campus and provide lucrative jobs to all our students.
