Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) is one of the best college in Varanasi. It was founded in 1919. It is a co educational campus with a large area spread over nearly 1300 acres at the southern end of Varanasi on the banks of River Ganges. In 1971, three faculties of BHU,Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) and College of Technology (TECHNO) were merged to form the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU). Academics are the best part at IIT BHU. BHU was the first Indian university which introduce the study of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In 2008 Malaviya Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (MCIIE) was established. College also provides labs facilities, well furnished classroom, play ground and many more.
