In 1836 this college was established and known as "ROBERTSON COLLEGE". In 1947 its name was changed into "MAHAKOSHAL COLLEGE". Development:- In 1962 the college was bifurcated and the Arts college was named "GOVT. MAHAKOSHAL ARTS " COLLEGE" In 1983 Commerce stream was also started and the name was again changed to Govt.
