rnA total of 111 offers were made to the 109 students who attended the placement process. The highest salary offered was Rs. 16 lacs per annum (30% increase over the previous year) and the average salary offered was Rs. 8.82 lacs per annum (24% increase over the previous year). A number of students received Pre Placement Offers from recruiters such as Johnson & Johnson Medical India, Tata Motors, Wipro, Tata Capital and many other prominent firms. Companies recruiting from GIM belonged to various sectors such as BFSI, IT & ITES, Consulting, Healthcare, Automobiles & Manufacturing, Telecom, Market Research and Hospitality. A total of 8 companies visited GIM for the first time such as Goldman Sachs, Religare, Verity Knowledge Solutions (UBS) etc. Some of the other key recruiters this year were Deloitte, JP Morgan Chase, J.P. rnThe Alumni base, which has grown and strengthened over the years, has been a strong point for GIM and as always they extended their full-fledged support throughout the year. They were involved right from conducting grooming sessions to travelling to the campus with various recruitment teams. A word of gratitude goes out to all recruiters, alumni and other stakeholders for reposing their continued faith in GIM. Summer Placements The quality and potential of GIM students has been widely recognized by the industry and academicians alike. The batch of 2010-2012 too lived up to these high standards. The gamut of profiles offered for summer internship spanned across various streams such as Market Research, Business Development, HR Consulting, Product Marketing, Reporting & Analytics, Sales & Distribution, Financial Liabilities, Strategic Marketing, Portfolio Management etc. Some of the major recruiters were J.P. Morgan (Global Finance), Fidelity, Religare, Johnson & Johnson Medical India, Vodafone, Accenture, Wipro Group, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, Pidilite, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, Tata Capital, Tata Motors, TATA AIG General Insurance, HP DSAS, Reserve Bank of India, Dow Jones, Thomson Reuters, Firstsource Solutions, eClerx etc. Additionally, three GIM Students have also been selected for doing a summer project with the Government of Goa. Our students in the past have done a variety of projects during their summer internships, some of which have already been implemented by the concerned organizations and others are under various stages of consideration. Many GIM students have also opted for summer internship in start-ups such as Printbindaas, The Strategist etc. Not surprisingly, our students have received immense appreciation for their commitment and quality of work done during the internships. The good image built by our alumni in the industry brought new recruiters to our campus and it was a pleasure welcoming several first-time recruiters to our campus.
