Placement

In the year 2008 - NTRMEDNET Consortium & Digital Library has subscribed to 795 E-journals and 83 books and also 150 print journals to facilitate the staff and students of 43 affiliated colleges in Modern Medicine, Dental & Homoeopathy.

The NTRMEDNET Consortium & Digital Library has conducted a work shop on “E-JOURNALS @ NTRMEDNET CONSORTIUM: Hands on Training” on 24th September 2008. Dr. H.S.Siddamallaiah, Principal Library and Information Officer, Library and Information Centre, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore gave the keynote address.

In the year 2009 - NTRMEDNET Consortium & Digital Library has subscribed to 165 E-journals and 114 E-books and 142 print journals to give access to 51 affiliated colleges in Modern Medicine, Dental, ISM & H and Nursing colleges.

A training program was organized on 8th June, 2009 at Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences, Peerancheru, Hyderabad and on 9th June, 2009 at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad and invited the faculty and students of Osmania Medical College, Gandhi Medical College and Government Dental College, Hyderabad.

Ms. Dju Lyn, Account Development Manager for Asia Pacific, Singapore of British Medical Journal Group conducted a workshop on 09.07.2009 to the Librarians of 32 Modern Medical Colleges

Today, i.e., for 2010 NTRMEDNET Consortium has subscribed to 1614 E-journals and 114 E-books to give access to 306 Health science institutions of all the faculties Modern Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Laboratory Technology and Ayush under Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences affiliation reaching out to the needs of students, teachers and researchers.

The NTRMEDNET Consortium & Digital Library has conducted a seminar in collaboration with Elsevier Health Sciences on “Development of Medical Libraries in the Digital age” at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam on 24.02.2010 and also conducted a seminar on “User Awareness programme on E-resources of NTRMEDNET Consortium” at Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada on 03.05.2010.

To impart knowledge and expertise in accessing E-journals and E-books training programmes were organized periodically to the Librarians of Medical, Dental, Ayush, Nursing and Paramedical colleges. From January, 2009 to March, 2010 the NTRMEDNET Consortium & Digital Library has conducted 20 Hands on training programmes to the librarians of the affiliated colleges.
