Doranda College was established in 1962 with an aim of imparting high quality education among the students of Jarkhand. In April 1977, the college was converted into a constituent unit of Ranchi University. The college is involved in offering bachelors courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams and also offers vocational courses like BBA, BCA, IT, TTM and OMSP. The college also provides many facilities to its students like laboratories eqquiped with modern instruments, sports, placement & training cell, scholarships, a well stocked library, book bank and many more.
This college has excellent placement record as most of the students from the last year are working in reputated organizations according to their eligibility and skills. The college provides well established placement cell equiped with various placement related facilities and highly qualified and experienced faculty. It conducts various training programmes and workshops for the final year students. It also conducts many pre-plcament activities to train the students or to get aware them about their future placement process so that they can face their future challenges easily.
