D.G. Vaishnav College was founded in the year 1964 by Shri Vallabhacharya Vidya Sabha with the sole purpose of imparting quality education to the students of Tamil Nadu state. Initially, the college offered a degree course in Mathematics along with Pre-University courses. Now, the college offers several undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college has 7 UG and 6 PG (aided), 12 UG and 11 PG (self supporting) programmes, Research Programmes such as M.Phil, (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and Ph.D. (Commerce, Economics, Chemistry and Computers).
