Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology was established under ISO 9001:2008 QMS with the prime objectives proving skilled manpower to the plastics industries in the area of plastics technology. CIPET Impahl has well qualified and trainned faculties to guide the students and provide all over support. CIPET Imphal has testing labs for testing the electrical, mechanical, physical, optical and chemical properties of plastics. CIPET Imphal has active interaction with Manipur Enterpreneurs Association and other state Govt.

As per The Human Resource requirement of Indian Plastics Industries academic activities were categorized in to “4 TIER”.

• Tier I – Doctoral, Postgraduate & undergraduate Programs are high-ended Programs at High Learning Centre.
• Tier II – Conventional CIPET’s Diploma , Post Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma Programs.
• Tier III – Industry specific Programs.
• Tier IV – Operator level Programs including non-conventional Programs at extended campus of CIPET.

In order to remain at the forefront on the technological development in the field of plastics CIPET has signed Mou with renowned National and International Universities.
