Canara Engineering College is the millennium project of the Canara High School Association. It is a Konkani Linguistic Minority Institution. There was an acute need for starting this Engineering College because there was no Engineering College belonging to Konkani Linguistic Minority.
The College was started in the year 2001 with 180 seats in 3 Branches of Engineering. Two more Engineering branches were added in the year 2004. At present it has 7 sections with a total intake of 420 seats.
Canara Engineering College, Bantwal, which was established in the year 2001 as a unit of Canara High School Association has been able to ensure quality education from the very first year of its inception. Quality of any professional institute is measured primarily by its infrastructure, faculty, academic results and its ability to secure jobs for their students. Canara Engineering College in its Persistent Perseverance in Pursuit of Perfection has achieved a great deal in securing jobs for the students through campus selections.
