To promote technical education in this area Govt. has taken many steps. Govt. Polytechnic Lehragaga is already running in the campus of the Institute since 1996.  The institute is named after renowned freedom fighter of “Parja Mandal movement” Baba Hira Singh Ji Bhattal Late father of Ex Deputy Chief Minister Sardarni Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.

In the era of extreme revolutionary global flux, the field of Engineering & Technology becomes the pivotal point on which the synergized and all pervasive development of a nation relies heavily. Seeing the issue from syntagmatic and paradigmatic standings, the mirrored thesis reflects the significance in terms of transition and transcendence of a nation with an aimed destination of merging into global standards of quality and excellence.

Centering the discourse into the current argument, Govt. of Punjab is committed to make a strong position in the mentioned field of TECHNOLOGY to move along with the globe.

With a vision of spreading and sprinkling quality Technical Education to the masses, BABA HIRA SINGH BHATTAL INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLGY (BHSBIET), a brain-child of Govt. of Punjab, was established in the year of 2005. The institute’s world view incorporates a unique understanding of the binary opposites like Theory and Practice, Professionalism and Human Values, Modernity and Heritage/ Tradition. The intellectual intelligentia is continuously making high-spirited efforts so that the gap between these binary opposites may be bridged/ minimized with an aim of achieving comprehensive growth both at micro and macro levels of development of the nation.

BHSBIET boasts of having world class infrastructure and well qualified and dedicated faculty which “befits” into the ideals of the institute. The institute aspires to create a competitive and conducive academic environment to meet with the challenges of the fast growing global technical society. The institute symbolizes a “desire” for self-actualization and the same is manifested in the name of the institute. The roots of the origin of the name travel backwards to Baba Hira Singh Bhattal, a great revolutionary during the freedom struggle of India.   Training and Placement Cell of the institute provides total support in defining the career of the students. The cell is trying to help the students in getting the suitable jobs. T & P cell is also trying to bring the excellence in their overall personality through counseling and self development sessions.

In- industry training:-  To fulfill the curriculum requirements of PTU, the students are required to undergo in industry training that is six weeks and six months training.. And at the last of the training evaluation is done by internal and external examiners.
                     The T & P cell maintains wide range of data of companies/ organization and helps the students to opt the appropriate for the same. And at the last of the training evaluation is done by internal and external examiners.
 

Summer/Winter Training: - For the overall development of the students as per PTU curriculum institutional training for second year students is organized in different labs and workshops of the institute. And at the last of the training evaluation is done by internal/external examiners. Also the students undergo 6 months and 6 weeks Industrial Training as per PTU norms.

Personality Development Program: - for the overall development of the students PDP’s, guest lectures, debates etc are organized time to time in the institute.
Industry Institute Interaction:- the training and placement cell is always in contact with reputed industries/ organizations. The cell also arranges visits/ trips to the industries for proper interaction with them.

Campus Placement: - The cell is regularly trying to maintain contacts with well established and renowned Industries/ organizations for the placement of the students.
