By an act of Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act of 2002, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University came into existence. The University campus is located at the great Himalayan Pir Panjal range in Rajouri, 154 km from Jammu. Normal public transport travels three and a half hours journey between Rajouri and Jammu. The main objective of the University is to undertake research work and to inculcate quality education in different fields. The University has launched postgraduate teaching programmes in Business Management, Financial Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Arabic, Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology & Bioresources and B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology & Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Renewable Energy Engineering. The University is also running BCA, BBA, BA Arabic and Diploma courses in Electronics, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical.

Placement

Training and Placement are the integral part of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. For this purpose, the University has setup a placement cell coordinated by a placement officer. Regular industrial visits, group discussions and mock test interviews are held to enhance personality of students.
