An Arts and Science college named “ Andhra Loyola College ” was started by Jesuit Fathers on 22 nd July 1954. This college was conferred autonomous status by UGC in 1988, was NAAC accredited in 2002 and selected as “ College with Potential for Excellence” by UGC in 2003 among the four colleges chosen in the first round in Andhra Pradesh and given a grant of one crore rupees by UGC for development of the college. More than 60,000 students have passed out of this college in 52 years of its service in Andhra Pradesh. At present around 3646 students of eight PG courses, 17 UG courses and 5 Intermediate courses are in the campus. Around 1000 students are in the hostels. MCA & MBA courses run in the same campus received an award as Best Professional PG College and in University Exam Results got first prize in Acharya Nagarjuna University . In admissions through government counseling, MCA and MBA courses in this college are first filled up before other colleges.
