Academy of Technology is one of the leading self-financed engineering colleges established in the year 2003,in West Bengal. It has been established by Ananda Educational Development & Charitable Organization, a trust under the chairmanship of Prof. Jagannath Banerjee, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta. All the academic programmes are approved by AICTE and are recognized by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology. The college is located at Adisaptagram on the side of G. T. Road in the industrial region of Hooghly under Kolkata Metropolitan Development Area, West Bengal. The lush green campus of Academy of Technology, spread over an area of 10.66 acres, has been developed as a modern piece of architecture blended with the environment in added it also includes the- Arcadia-the Campus festival, Tec fiesta- the tech-fest, Humatronics-the in-campus talent search program and the annual Sports. Various national and international conferences are also frequently entertained in college. On the part of faculty if we look over we can find that 26 regular faculty members are PhDs and out of which only 09 are Assistant Professors. Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Bhattacharya, renowned Professor of Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and the Director of Academy of Technology, leads a team of 148 qualified and experienced faculty members conforming to AICTE stipulated teacher-student ratio of 1:15. The college has a good round of placement with a incresing percentage of 52.07% and offering an average package of 2.57 lakhs with highest upto 4.20.
