Description

The Institute of Medical Sciences of BHU has three faculties (Medicine, Ayurveda and Dental Sciences), School of Nursing, Molecular Biology Unit, Center for Experimental Medicine and Surgery.

The Banaras Hindu University holds All India competitive written test for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2010 Screening and PMT-2010 Main, and for BDS (38 seats), BAMS (78 seats) and B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses one stage: PMT-2010 Screening.

Candidates must have Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% for General, OBC and respective PC candidates and 40% aggregate marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. (ii) ForB.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General, OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply. Candidates must have completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2010 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1994 and on or before 31st December, 1985 need not apply).

The BHU 2013 PMT Screening Question paper will have a single question paper containing 200 objective type questions , each carrying 2 marks. There will be 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology with a maximum of 100 marks for each subject . Negative marking- marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The BHU 2013 PMT Mains also will have one question paper with 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The question paper will have two sections. section A will have 100 questions having 25 questions from each subject ( Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology ). Against each questions, four responses will be given of which only one will be correct. Out of four options given against each question, more than one shall be correct. Each correct answer in BHU PMT Main will carry 2 marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
