In 1979, seven committed persons, all sharing the same concern to the cause of education and community development, under the leadership and guidance of Justice K S Hegde formed an association. Justice Hegde, conceived the idea of a trust, which would provide basic education, health care and train manpower. 

Placement

 The department of Counselling, Student welfare, Training & Placement is vibrant in its activities and sees an NMAMITian as a cheerful, articulate, healthy team player who is technically competent, socially & environmentally conscious, ethically upright and eminently employable. It has a qualified and experienced Mental Health Professional heading the department, a full time Placement Executive, departmental faculty coordinators, student volunteers, trained and committed departmental staff dedicated to work for the students’ overall well being.
