Maharani's Arts and Commerce College for Women (MACCWM), Mysore is one of the oldest and most renowned institutions in the country. The college is a forerunner of providing higher education exclusively for girl students. The college had its humble beginning in the last quarter of 19th century, wth the establishment of Maharani's Girls' School with Primary and Middle Sections in 1881. The School was taken over by the Government from the private management in 1891 and upgraded to a high school. In 1902, it was made a Second Grade College with the name Maharani's College and was affiliated to the University of Madras.

The college was upgraded and was elevated to the status of a full-fledged first grade college in 1920 for imparting higher education leading to the award of university degrees.

Placement

 The cell establishes close contact with industrial and business houses through news letters, placement brochures and personal contacts. The remarkable achievement of this cell is its capacity to provide multiple job opportunities to choose from, for deserving candidates. The career guidance and placement cell undertakes programmes aimed at campus recruitment, corporate training and competence building. Campus selections are being conducted by the reputed organizations on a regular basis and many students have been selected & well placed.
