Karpagam University was established in 1995, which formally was initiated as Karpagam Arts & Science College. The college was promoted by the Karpagam Charity Trust, incepted by the renowned Karpagam Industries. Today, the university has been granted the reputation status by the MHRD and UGC (Under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956) in 2008. The university had drawn its inspiration from the magnetic persona President Dr.R.Vasanthakumar who has transcended his role as a prominent industrialist to be a philanthropist dedicated to the noble cause of education. Carrying his vision forward is Shri.K.Murugaiah, the Chief Executive Officer, who brings enormous experience to the University. Under the stewardships of Vice Chancellor Dr. K.Ramasamy and the Registrar Dr. P.Lakshmanaperumalsamy , the at Karpagam University, will ensure that education epitomizes excellence in every way as they reinstate the pledge to Enable, Enlighten, Enrich the society.
