AKKALOKOT, a town in western Maharashtra is situated along the banks of BORI river,Akkalkot is located at 170 30’ NLand 76010’EL On the banks of BORI river , It was formerly a head quarters seat , Of the princely state of Akkalkot after the merger of the state in Indian union it formed part of Sholapur District  and became Head quarter of taluka . The principal objects of interest in the town are the vata vriksha temple of  Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj, It being a place were Akkalkot swami took Samadhi in 1878 AD and  Who was considered  to be an incarnation of God  Dattatraya .

I.T.I. AKKALKOT IS  started by state  Govt. in Aug. 1995, under the control   of Directorate of vocational Education  &Training, Maharashtra state, Mumbai . The Institute  is located at 40 Km from solapur. Connected by railway & road with Solapur. Industrial areas of Solapur are well established & developing fastly mainly on Textile Sector .
