Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is an autonomus engineering and technology oriented college that is created with a mission of "Knowledge Is Power" .It was the sixth Indian institute of Technology established in 1994.At present institute has eleven departments and three inter-diciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering and science diciplines.IIT Guwahati offers graduate and post graduate programme.Its campus is spread over the area of 285 hectares which is placed 20 km away from the heart of the city.
