It is a government college established on 1st June,1944 which is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University located in Cuttak, Orrisa where students is trained according to the needs of society to become a competent dental surgeon. It is one of the premier Medical institute in Orrissa. It is the oldest center of teaching and training in India.
