AITEC is located at a village named Ettimadi, at the foothills of Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. The university is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Bharathiar University Coimbatore. The courses offered here are Computers, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Elelctronics & Instrumentation. For the admission of this university students have to give in entrance exam (AmritaEntrance Examination) which is conducted by the university. Amrita University has five campuses (Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Kochi and Mysore) in three different states of India. Coimbatore campus is the administrative headquarters of Amrita University. It’s also been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. Over 120 UG, PG and doctoral programs are offered in this university. This university lays a lot of emphasis on eco- friendly and conservation practices.

What is so special about AITEC ?

Library – AITEC has an automated library information system connected to the LAN/WiFi for quick information. It consist of more than 45,500 books, 300 journals, 4000 project reports, 5300 back – volumes, 3800 project reports and 4,000 CD/DVD resources. The central library also has access to the digital library of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Computing Facilities – AITEC has 13 computer centres’ which are well designed and equipped scientifically. The CAD/CAM centre has more than 70 workstations, CNC Milling machine and CNC tuning machine along with an Industrial Robot. All buildings are interconnected with high-speed fiber optic cable and all the computers are networked over fast ethernet link.

Hostels - Separate hostel facilities are provided for girls and boys. P.G students and final year U.G students are allotted single rooms. All hostels are equipped with solar water heater for hot water supply. Only vegetarian food is provided in the hostels under hygienic conditions. Night cafeteria is also attached with all the hostel buildings. Students are not permitted to live in rented houses, lodges, either alone or in groups.

Sports – The campus has facility for both indoor and outdoor games as well. There are three gyms inside the campus. Each hostel has a separate sports room. Amrita Swimming Pool is of Olympic Standard with 50m X 25m in Size and contains 2.4 million littres of water. Annual sports and athletic meet render opportunities to all students and staff to display their talents and win prizes.

Guest House - The guest house facility includes 20 A.C rooms, 4 A.C suites, 20 non A.C rooms, conference hall and dining hall. It provides comfortable stay for parents, visiting professors, company executives, and administrators.

Bank - Dhanalakshmi Bank is set up operates ATM facility for the benefit of staff and students.

Medical Facility - Three doctors and eight nursing staff are on duty. The dispensary has ten beds for the patients. Basic medical care, pharmacy with adequate medicines, facilities like ECG Machine, Nebulizers, Oxygen cylinders, Defibrillator, ECG monitor & Pulse OXYmeter and first aid are provided in the health care unit. Two ambulances are readily available in the clinic for emergency.

Amenities Complex - A General store caters to the stationery and other requirements like domestic goods, toiletry, provisions, books etc. The amenities complex has a tailoring shop, Photocopying facility, a men's hair dressing centre and STD booth.

Canteen – Three canteens functions inside the campus from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on all days.

 The opportunity to get placed is given to all students as campus invites the leading industries of India for providing the jobs . They also provide pre placement training to the aspiring candidates. The institute is providing 100% placement to the successful candidates as it has very good touch with the well known and leading industries.

Four IT Majors TCS, CTS, WIPRO & Infosys together made 2000 job offers to Amrita students of 2009 Batch. 1290 students recruited in 64 Companies from the 2008 Batch.
